The last one....

Image
This is my last post for my class! I can't believe I did it! I'm not sure if I will continue to blog about my Pinterest attempts. TBD For my last recipe I decided to do something I've been wanting to do since watching Britain's Next Great Baker on Netflix. They are always talking about puff pastry. Puff pastry is the name of the game for this recipe and it was actually pretty fun. There is a lot of rolling and folding and it's rather soothing. After starting this recipe I noticed that the recipe only tells you how to make the puff pastry, it didn't tell me what to do with it after I had made it, so I had to find another recipe to finish them out. The first thing the recipe said was to mix flour and salt. Done. Next, cut up some cold butter into cubes. (The funny thing is, it specifically said high-quality butter. haha aint nobody got time for that) Add to flour and mix. It said to use some sort of pastry device, which I obviously don't hav...

A Cookie?

I honestly didn't even know what I was making was a cookie until right before I put them in the oven.....the literal name of the recipe is called "New York Cheesecake Cookies ". I just saw the cheesecake part and was sold. Whatever. I made some dang cookies. I always feel like i'm setting myself up for success. I think in my head Yes, i'm going to nail this recipe and it won't be tragic and look like a child made it. Nope. Something seems to go wrong. Whelp. Here it is: So, here are my ingredients. Did you know that you can buy graham crackers already in crumb form? And they smell amazing! Heart eyes all around. So, for some reason this recipe kept telling me to get bowls. Like, why?  It wanted me to get out 3 bowls...for 12 cookies...come on... Here you'll see my graham cracker crumbs mixed with my flour. Isn't it pretty? Yes that is a burn on my hand from a previous cooking adventure featuring the oven... On a positive no...

Mash the Cauliflower

Image
I was very hesitant to do a blog post on something other than a yummy treat....BUT I did it. I made a cauliflower creation that actually tasted delicious. I got this inspiration from a co-worker, she said her 8 year old makes it all the time so I thought, "well if she can do it...." haha Twice baked cauliflower is the name of the game...I went through several recipes on Pinterest trying to find the one with the least amount of ingredients. Didn't want to stress myself out, you know what I mean? I struggled with pictures this time....photography is not my forte.  As you can see, I chose the smallest cutting board and biggest pot I owned for this. I'm a natural...haha The next step was to mash the cauliflower with your potato masher. uhh...what am I supposed to do when I don't have this so called potato masher?  Add some stuff and mix...then spread in a casserole dish. Check.  Add some more stuff to the top. Check. I ...

What the pudding cake!?

Image
hahahaha i'm already laughing at myself. I used to love baking and then I stopped for a while and now it seems that I don't know what i'm doing. This week I decided to make my dad a birthday cake.....I was originally going to make him a cake out of the box but then he requested a pudding cake. I response was and I quote "I have no idea what that is but i'll Pinterest it" I did Pinterest it...and there are so many different versions and flavors of a pudding cake so I just chose one. My dad wanted lemon so I attempted a lemon pudding cake.... So I gathered up mostly what I would need (haha you can see my cake box mix in the background) and began on this uphill battle to make my dad this lemon pudding cake. I needed to zest a lemon....I used my cheese grater....haha One of the steps for the lemon sauce was to add just the yoke of 3 eggs so I have this handy dandy egg yoke separater thing that I've only ever used once before this and I'...
